Eco Eccentric is a unique little treasure trove of eco sustainable and fair trade fashion, wares, jewellery and gifts tucked away at the entrance to Sandgate Arcade.

Here you’ll find a chic range of bamboo and organic cotton wear, including elegant tees, skirts, leggings, exercise gear, belts, cover-ups, dresses and underwear for women as well as gorgeous fair trade Cambodian silk sun dresses, boho tops and kaftans. (If you haven’t worn bamboo before here’s the perfect place to discover the many drawcards of this amazingly soft, gentle and yet sturdy fabric).

For gents there’s also a small range of cotton and hemp shirts and shorts and bamboo sports socks.

Owner Janette, who is passionate and highly knowledgeable about fair trade and eco-sustainability and carefully sources every object in her store, extends her good eye for fashion into accessories, stocking an exquisite range of Moroccan silver and beaded jewellery.

Homewares here are Fair Trade certified and come with their own story, including quirky conversation piece ‘elephant’ wine glasses, hand-beaded cake server and pate knives, 100% sustainable eco- brushware, hand-painted plates, colourful baskets from Ghana, handmade cushions and aluminium free candles.

Eco Eccentric also stocks a small delicious range of self-care products such as handmade soaps and bodywashes in scents like Moroccan Rose and, for the bathroom, a collection of 100% bamboo towels, bath sheets and washers.
