Children's Festival

Woodford

The Children’s Festival is a 6 day extravaganza of whacky, creative, avant garde, old-fashioned and handmade fun and entertainment in a dedicated zone within the Woodford Folk Festival.

Just past the Butterfly Walk and inside the main gates hang a right and behind the giant handmade frame of the entrance, kids aged from 0-12 will find plenty to fill their day.

Children's Festival Woodford

With a daily programme of action-packed goings-on far too numerous to mention, some of the highlights include:

Professor Wallace’s Puppet Theatre – A fixture on the Woodford calendar since time immemorial this charming old world puppet theatre a la Punch and Judy features Mr Punch and his gang of irascible scalliwags.

Natural Wildlife Music and Theatre – Join in this daily animal discovery fest featuring the animals and creatures of Woodfordia.

The Big Bang – Whacky musician extraordinaire Lindsay Pollack teaches children how to play and instrument (but not as you know it) and join the Friday parade.

Salty Pete’s Pirate School – Pirate fans will have a blast with this series of daily pirate-themed activities including how to talk like a pirate, make a treasure map and design a pirate tattoo.

Costume Carnivale – Join in the daily gaga-esque costume-making process where trhe only limit is the imagination. Costumes will be paraded at the Friday night parade.

In addition, there’s story-telling, hip hop classes, a Teddy bear’s Breakfast, daily clay sculpting, rock painting, bubble blowing, circus classes, a folk club, permaculture village and so much more.
