The Brisbane Visual Arts Community are hosting a special pop-up shop full of gorgeous handcrafted artisan wares and gifts in the scenic surrounds of Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens.

Held over 2 days on the first weekend of May, this initiative of BVAC is the perfect one-off shopping opportunity for a unique Mother’s Day or other special occasion gift to treasure, away from the hustle and bustle of shopping centres and malls.

Porcelain, textiles, leather, silk scarves, glass objects, paintings, prints, wearable art, felted and embroidered items, ceramics, tea cosies and jewellery are just some of the locally made hoard of fabulous objects and items for sale.

Contributing artists and crafts people hail from the Qld Porcelain Artists Inc, ATASDA (Australian Textile Artists and Surface Design Association), Watercolour Society Of Qld, Scattered Arts, Western Suburbs Clayworkers, Silk Shed studio group, Qld Bookbinders Guild, Leather Crafters Association of Qld and Qld Spinners, Weavers and Fibre Artists.

On Sunday at 11am shoppers can catch the inspiring fashion parade and all weekend watch demonstrations of artisans at work.
