THE BOOK SHACK HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
In a little strip of shops down near the station can be found this treasure of a secondhand book shop that is not only a source of great value reads but also of fair trade and recycled wares and trinkets.
Alongside the browse-worthy shelves that stock all genres including children's and young adults (with books that can be exchanged) this is the place to find unique gifts that are both cheap to buy and help a good cause.
Expect to find messenger bags made from recycled coffee sacks and curtains, bowls fashioned out of recycled posters, scrap material pot holders, handmade clay salt and pepper shakers and soft drink can and Tibetan book marks as well as bags made from old billboards.
