Atavist Books

Fortitude Valley

ATAVIST BOOKS HAS CLOSED ITS DOORS TO BE REPLACED BY KUNSTLER BOOKS & MAGAZINES.

Atavist Books is the little timber book cabin that lives down the lane – a quirky postage sized secondhand shop containing books across all genres.

And although there's a few shelves of Chick Lit (or Fiction Lite) you won't find any trashy novels here – this is a great if compact selection of reasonably priced tomes that any bibliophile would be happy to display on the home book shelves, with classic novels by the likes of 007 creator Ian Fleming and a healthy smattering of Brisbane authors such as John Birmingham and David Malouf.

Other than fiction, there are shelves devoted to crime, art and design, history and politics, art and craft, modern classics and a selection of Staff Picks.

And there's even a low lying shelf of picture books and kid lit for those who care to rummage.
