Beree-Badalla Reserve

Currumbin

Beree Badalla Reserve is one of the Gold Coast's hidden treasures - a stunning ethereal wetland with boardwalk hemming beautiful Currumbin Creek, a world away from the beaches on the other side of the highway.

There is car parking adjacent to the bridge, just off Thrower Drive and the walk starts there but can also be combined with a stroll around the Tarraborra Reserve on the other side of the bridge. (Note that whilst the boardwalk is OK to walk dogs on leashes, they are not allowed in Tarraborra Reserve).

The walk to the end of the boardwalk return takes about 20-30 minutes and is best done at high tide when the boardwalk 'floats' right on the water.

Along the way there are sheltered viewing platforms, benches to sit on and enjoy the view and tiny secluded beaches.

The boardwalk continues along to the Throwers Road boat ramp where you can either turn around or continue the walk for a few more kilometres. Keep to the water’s edge and from there you can can cross under the road and continue on a riverfront path past a sports oval until you reach the historic railway bridge that today runs next to and beneath the Pacific Motorway.

If you'd like to continue, keep to the water’s edge and from there, cross under the road and continue on a riverfront path past a sports oval until you reach the historic railway bridge runs alongside and beneath the Pacific Motorway. Follow the path alngside Currumbin Creek on the other side and return via the main highway bridge.
