Marcia's On Montague

West End

Walk through the door at this West End emporium and be overwhelmed - in the nicest possible way. Marcia's on Montague is the place to go for an amazing range of homewares, gifts and all things organic.

Sparkling glassware, elegant dinner sets, gleaming cutlery, table decorations and an endless range of beautiful giftware make it hard to know where to look first. Cookware, bakeware, coffee making gadgets, utensils and cake decorating accessories are also amongst the many items filling the shelves.

If the decision making gets too hard, take a break at the in-store cafe where healthy and nutritious options abound. Here, everything is baked and prepared using 100 per cent organic ingredients. Highly recommended is Marcia's carrot and fig cake but there are plenty of other choices to ponder. Gourmet pies, fresh salads, soups, muffins, BLTs (using Levain bread), cold pressed juices, smoothies, tea, coffee and more appear on the cafe's menu.

In recent times Marcia's daughter, Gabby has opened Organics at Marcia's which can be found on a lower level of the original store.  Here the emphasis is on local, sustainable, ethical, natural and organic items. Again, there's much to see. Colourful woven baskets, organic teas, organic cat and dog food, baby products, skincare, clothing, organic fresh fruit, veg and honey are displayed beside bulk bins filled with grains, legumes, cereals, chocolates etc.

For those on their way elsewhere or choosing to sit outdoors, Organics at Marcia's also has a sidewalk espresso bar, serving coffee made from single origin Bolivian Froglia beans.

Don't count on paying a quick visit to Marcia's on Montague - leave time to enjoy a leisurely browse at everything on offer here and do your decision making over a coffee or a bite to eat.

Worth knowing: Online shopping is available. There are a limited number of parking spaces right outside Marcia's on Montague - look for the orange coloured building.
