Coochiemudlo Off Leash Dog Beach

Coochiemudlo Island

One of the best offleash dog beaches on Brisbane's bayside can be found a 10 minute ferry ride away from the mainland on beautiful Coochiemudlo Island.

The offleash beach, which starts south of the ferry stop (look for the sign) and extends round the island to the beach's end, is open all day from May 1 to August 31 but is restricted to offleash use only after hours the rest of the year.

Best visited at low tide, the spectacular uninhabited beach is a fantastic place for pooches to run wild and let their fur down and take a dip in the water with no waves.

Need to know - Passenger ferries to Coochiemudlo run every half hour from Victoria Point, take ten minutes to reach the island and pups are allowed on board on leash. Be sure to check the tide times before visiting the island.
