The Brightside Brisbane

Globally recognised Indian pop musician Prateek Kuhad is touring Australia for the first time, making his Brisbane debut at The Brightside, Fortitude Valley on September 9, 2024.

Praised by Rolling Stone India as “one of the country’s leading singer-songwriters” and by Austin Monthly as “a certifiable international sensation”, Prateek Kuhad has garnered a slew of accolades and honors around the globe with his mesmerizing, cinematic songwriting.

In 2018, Kuhad’s breakout EP, cold/mess, debuted at #1 on Spotify India and he became one of the platform’s most-streamed artists. The EP wasn’t just a success domestically - Barack Obama added the track to his coveted “Favorite Music of 2019” list, and international media quickly took note of what millions of listeners around the world already knew.

Rave reviews followed Kuhad everywhere he went: US Weekly praised his music as “beautifully haunting,” and Brooklyn Vegan celebrated his “angelic vocals.” Billboard said, "Kuhad has progressed from playing auditoriums to headlining festivals attended by tens of thousands...described as 'Simon and Garfunkel by way of Damien Rice.'

On the heels of cold/mess, Kuhad released Hindi single "Kasoor” in 2020, which became the first independently released track in India to reach #1 on Apple Music's all-genre chart and Top 100 India Chart. In 2022 he released his second full-length album, The Way That Lovers Do, on Elektra Records followed by a Deluxe version of the album.

This year, Kuhad has given us glimpses of what’s to come with singles, “No Complaints” and “Just Like A Movie,” the latter of which was co-written and produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer Gregg Wattenberg. Kuhad is previewing more new music for fans around the world on his Silhouettes Tour, with dates across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia.
