A Midnight Visit

Fortitude Valley

The smash hit, boundary-pushing, promenade-style theatre experience, A Midnight Visit, has brought to life a new kind of entertainment that has taken Brisbane by storm and, thanks to a season extension due to popular demand, you can experience it until October 10.

Set inside a two-story warehouse, located in Fortitude Valley, audiences are free to explore more than 30 themed rooms, interact with characters, props and art installations and choose their own adventure through this epic wonderland of decadence and delight.

Inspired by the world and works of gothic master, Edgar Allan Poe, A Midnight Visit features 8 multidisciplinary performers, who animate and enrich the space with cabaret, circus, text-based story-telling, contemporary dance and song.

A Midnight Visit is like nothing you’ve seen before. It’s bold vision, playful possibilities, intricate design, epic scale and explosive energy present the perfect night out for Brisbane audiences who like their entertainment extraordinary.

Director and Co-creator Kirsten Siddle explains “We’re creating a fully formed fantasy world for audiences to explore freely. Set inside one of Poe’s dreams (not that you necessarily need to know anything about the master of the macabre), it’s a place where the characters from his life and his literature collide. It’s sometimes funny, sometimes sexy, sometimes wistful, and yes, sometimes a little bit scary!"
