Mem Fox in Conversation with Trent Dalton
State Library of Queensland
Legendary Australian author Mem Fox will be coming to the State Library of Queensland on October 30 to launch her new book, The Tiny Star, alongside Boy Swallows Universe author Trent Dalton, for the latest Talking Ideas instalment.
In an event particularly suited to teachers, librarians, parents and carers, these two award-winning writers will discuss fostering a love of reading between carer and child, and sharing stories across generations. They’ll also touch upon inspiration, life, and why writers simply must write.
With over 38 books to her credit, Mem Fox became a household name for the 1983-classic Possum Magic, which has sold over three million copies and is the bestselling picture book ever in Australia.
A staff writer for The Weekend Australian Magazine, Brisbane-based Trent Dalton has taken the literary world by storm with his debut novel, the multi-award-winning and best-selling Boy Swallows Universe.
Nice to know: State Library's Talking Ideas are regular live events with the world’s best authors, thinkers and commentators.
Need to know: The Tiny Star will be on sale at SLQ’s Library Shop, and Mem and Trent will be on hand to sign books after the event. Guests can grab pre-show refreshments from The Library Café.
