The Great Half-Monster Heist
GOMA
Explore the GOMA in the most uniquely fun way, by taking part in The Great Half-Monster Heist on October 26, 2019.
Participants can play as either an undercover detective or a master thief, with the ultimate goal being to forge the most art or make the most arrests – depending on which side of the fence you’re on.
This unique game (part hide and seek, part tag) sees players divided into two teams with very different agendas. Thieves must locate certain art works in the gallery and then “steal” them by sketching a copy (read: forgery) in their notebook. They’ll have to be on their guard, though, as undercover detectives lurk, trying to catch them in the act and confiscate their forgeries.
Proving this heist really does have it all, arrested thieves can swap allegiances and become detectives, while detectives may keep the forged documents and cross to the dark side (aka become a thief). Prizes will be awarded to those with the most arrests and most forgeries.
Families, gamers, rapscallions, historians, and fans of subterfuge, deduction, and breaking (or following) the law are strongly advised to attend.
Need to know – Make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start time. An event facilitator will be waiting in the main foyer of GOMA to brief you on your task.
