Step into the world of Eve Harrison, Brisbane's It-girl of 1884, for Eve's Game, a session of sleuthing, feminism and tea at Brisbane's historic Miegunyah House on Nov 28 and Dec 5, 12, 19, 2021.*

Eve's Game Miegunyah House

Returning from a sold-out season with Anywhere Festival, Eve’s Game brings an innovative mix of immersive theatre and a detective game to one of Brisbane’s most beautiful Victorian homes.

Guests will have a chance to experience the coming of age of a young Brisbane woman in the late nineteenth century through her own eyes. Eve’s Game is loosely based on the life of a real Brisbane woman, Evelyn Harris (played by actress/singer Ashlea Sloman), who made her social debut in London in 1884.

Jo Willans, the show's creator, says, “Eve has created an elaborate game, and she recruits her friends - the audience - to help her to solve the mysterious disappearance of a young woman. The game is a window into Eve’s psyche, as she struggles with her role in a very patriarchal society and the limited opportunities for women beyond domesticity and motherhood.”

Audiences are invited to join Eve for tea on the verandah and become her apprentice detective in the game of Paschal. Help her to investigate the disappearance of a young woman while exploring Miegunyah, discovering clues and solving puzzles.

Good to know - With an audience of just 14, Eve's Game is ideal for fans of intimate theatre and immersive events, as well as sleuthing and detective stories.

Need to know - Children over 12 are welcome, but the historic home of Miegunyah isn’t suitable for younger children.
