Carlos Bárcenas & John Woods: Alma Latina!

Prepare for a night of passion and rhythm as well-known tenor Carlos Bárcenas brings to life the vibrant soul of Latin music in Opera Queensland’s intimate Studio Series recital Alma Latina! at Opera Queensland Studio, South Bank on 17 & 18 July. 

Joined by acclaimed pianist, John Woods, Carlos will take audiences on a journey through beloved Latin classics and contemporary favourites, where storytelling, heritage and emotion intertwine. Together, Bárcenas and Woods create a powerful artistic duo that highlights the nuance and warmth of the repertoire. 

Well known to Opera Queensland audiences, Carlos most recently starred in Lucia di Lammermoor alongside acclaimed soprano Jessica Pratt and featured in our show-stopping rendition of Puccini's 'Nessun dorma' on the balcony of Brisbane City Hall.
