Brisbane Street Art Festival
in Ipswich
Seven epic street art murals by leading artists will be popping up across Ipswich CBD as the Brisbane Street Art Festival spreads to the historic city for the first time in August 2020.
Festival Director Lincoln Savage said the city’s unique blend of rich heritage combined with the reinvigoration of its CBD presented the perfect canvas for new public art works.
Artists who are participating are Sydney based social realist painter Fenton Magee, Gus Eagleton, emerging Australian muralist Ash Taylor, Sydney based illustrator and artist STYNA (Christina Huynh), Brisbane-based contemporary painter and gallery director Emily Devers, Aboriginal artist and designer Rachael Sarra and Jordach, Brisbane-based muralist and founder of the Mayne Line. All of the action happens on 8 and 9 August when the public are invited to view the completed murals.
There are also opportunities to connect with artists on-site at their walls, hands-on socially distanced workshops in the historic Ipswich Woollen Mills and a live-streamed Swich Up Party featuring artist interviews, performances by local musicians and Scribble Slam art battle, broadcast from Ipswich’s Studio 188.
