Quandamooka Festival returns to  Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) for 3 huge days, with some of the biggest First Nations artists heading across the bay to celebrate, from Friday, August 26 to Sunday, August 28, 2022.

With 3 days full of exciting activities and 2 evening concerts, Quandamooka Festival 2022 has something for everyone - and best of all, kids are free!

The fantastic 3-day event will showcase local people, culture, and music including a 2-day music program kicking off on Friday from 5pm.

Acclaimed First Nations artists Roger Knox, Sycco, Shakaya, Electric Fields, Emma Donovan & the Putbacks, and Joe Geia will perform live on stage as part of this very special cultural celebration.

Plus, the spoils of Quandamooka talent will be displayed with performances from local musicians Sachém, Nix Grose and Maibre Grenfell. Sachém Parkin-Owens is a powerful poet, orator, rapper and singer-songwriter. Nix is a passionate and proud storyteller driven by connection to culture and country, while Maibre is a soulful, guttural vocalist who performs punchy acoustic sets.

The Saturday opening acts will be Benny Maza and Georgia Corowa from fresh Blak music label, JMZ. Artists Keely and CKNU will also deliver a performance straight from the soul.

Quandamooka Festival

The jam-packed program of activities will immerse visitors in Quandamooka Culture through music, dance, visual art, storytelling, weaving workshops, whale watching cultural tours, Kunjiel (corroboree), food stalls, artisan market stalls, insights into cultural heritage and caring for Country, and much more.

A short ferry ride from the mainland, the Quandamooka Festival is a unique opportunity to learn more about Country; the sands, seas, sacred lakes, creeks, catchments and creatures found across the Redlands and Moreton Bay islands from the Indigenous peoples’ perspective.

Become immersed in one of the oldest living cultures on earth and experience the continuing culture of the Nughi, Nunukul and Goenpul clans of Quandamooka, and enjoy the thrill of experiencing wildlife in its natural environment.
