Ballet Theatre Queensland

Be swept into a joyous world of comedy and romance by Ballet Theatre Queensland’s enchanting production of Coppélia, performed by Queensland's finest young dancers at the Playhouse, QPAC from Jan 19-22, 2022.

In this classic love-story, a village youth, Franz, falls in love with the beautiful Coppélia, who sits reading on her balcony all day, never speaking to anyone.

Swanhilda, Franz's fiancée, is jealous until she discovers Coppélia isn’t real, but a doll belonging to the eccentric scientist, Doctor Coppélius.

Filled with fun, romance and lots of beautiful ballet to the glorious music of Léo Delibes, Coppélia has been charming ballet lovers both young and old, since its first performance in 1870.

Be sure to join Ballet Theatre Queensland as it celebrates 85 years of magic-making with this joyous production of Coppélia, perfect for the young and the young-at-heart!
