City Comes to the Country

Scenic Rim

Even though the Ekka gates can’t open this year, Destination Scenic Rim will play their part by hosting this fabulous event, bringing city slickers from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and surrounds to the country.

Over ten days, from August 7-16, a range of events will be held that will showcase this region of Queensland and provide a unique country experience for all ages.

Some of the fantastic events not to be missed include farm tours and animal feeding at a range of local properties like Greenlee Macadamia Farm, and the Tommerup's Show Day, with a range of fun and educational activities for the whole family on their sixth generation dairy farm, is sure to be a hit.

For foodies, Scenic Rim Cooking Classes will be showcasing local produce in their classes, while Towri Sheep Cheeses are hosting a high tea outdoors in the fresh country air with guest chef Alex Liddle, from Signature Emporium.

There's also A Grain to Glass four-course lunch at Scenic Rim Brewery, A Beef and Beer night at the award-winning Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm, or enjoy a real country experience at Sarabah Estate Vineyard with a mechanical bull. The events will finish with a farm gate trail on August 16, showcasing a range of local produce direct from the farmers, so everyone can fill their empty eskies with local goodies before they head home.

And, not to be missed is a visit to the Boonah country markets, to stock up on fresh produce, local products and wares to take home.

Need to know - Events are ticketed and businesses are following all Government advice and regulations surrounding COVID-19. Tickets are limited so be sure to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
