The Big Wedgie

Fisherman's Lawn, Broadwater Parklands

Bust out your best wedgie-defying swimwear because The Big Wedgie waterslide is returning to Broadwater Parklands these school holidays, for an epic six-week stint from December 14 to January 27.

The world’s tallest inflatable waterslide became a local legend over the last summer holidays, and now The Big Wedgie returns to Southport along with three other family-friendly waterslides catering for all ages (and nerve levels!).

Standing over 18m tall, 82m long and with a thrilling 55-degree slope, The Big Wedgie is the undeniable star of the show. Children (over 7 years) and adults will get a real thrill – and a wedgie they’ll actually enjoy – rocketing down the four-lane racer slide at serious speeds.

For the real daredevils out there, The Big Chucka will prove an irresistible challenge. As the name suggests, this unimaginable wedgie machine sends riders (10 years +) on an 80-degree freefall, before launching them up to 9m in the air to finally land on an inflatable stuntman-style landing pad. It’s thrilling to ride and almost as much fun to watch.

Rounding out the line-up are smaller slides, The Just Right Wedgie and The Little Wedgie, which offer a less-extreme – but still wildly fun – option for the little ones aged 3 and up.

Need to know – Tickets can be pre-booked online or bought at the on-site booth. Daily operating hours will be posted on The Big Wedgie website, while detailed age and weight restrictions plus riding rules can also be viewed there. Also keep an eye on the event’s Facebook page in the event of dicey weather conditions.
