Keep the kids entertained while you get to enjoy Museum of Brisbane’s sparkling exhibition, World of Wonder: Margot McKinney, these Spring School Holidays

There’s something for everyone these school holidays at MoB, from sparkling tours where children can explore the magic of opals, pearls and other amazing miracles of nature, to making their own one-of-a-kind jewellery creation, and taking a ride in the city’s famous clock tower. Plus, you can keep your teen happy with the special Making Place: 100 Views of Brisbane In Situ Drawing session.

Now in its closing stages, World of Wonder: Margot McKinney features never-before-seen, intimate family archives and some of the world’s rarest gems in an exhibition of breath taking proportions.

Little Gems Tour - Daily, 11am + 12:30pm, $15pp

Kids (7-12 years old) will embark on a new adventure as they explore the magic of opals, pearls and other amazing miracles of nature in this one hour deep dive into the World of Wonder: Margot McKinney.

Teen Explorers Tour - Sep 21 + Sep 30, 2pm, $15pp

Teens (13-17 years old) can put some bling into their school holidays as they take a tour of the sparkling exhibition, World of Wonder: Margot McKinney,  get hands on with real life gems and tools of the trade.

Teen In Situ Drawing Sessions - Sep 23 + Sep 28, 2pm-3pm, $10pp

Back by popular demand! Turn the Museum into your own personal art studio with the Teen In Situ Drawing Sessions. Be part of a live guided drawing session after exploring the Making Place: 100 Views of Brisbane exhibition. 

Young artists (13-17 years old) will be introduced to some key artworks within the exhibition, before diving into some intensive drawing exercises that are suitable for all skills and abilities. All materials provided.

World of Wonder Design Studio - Daily except Oct 1, 10am-1pm, Free

Try your hand at designing a unique jewellery creation at the free drop-in World of Wonder Design Studio. Have you ever wanted to make your own special sparkling creation? Step into the shoes of a designer with this free pop-up activity! You’ll get to make and take home a one-of-a-kind creation, just like Margot McKinney.

Clock Tower Tour - Daily, 10:15am-4:45pm, Free, bookings required  

Take in sweeping views of the city from the top of the Clock Tower with a tour. Take a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts and look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces in this must-do Brisbane experience.
