Roll up! Roll up! Circus Train is coming to the Workshops Rail Museum this April school holiday with a few great stops for you and the family to enjoy. 

From April 3 to 18,  families can get onboard the Circus Train to see some of Queensland’s fascinating circus train history, have fun in Action Alley, and experience the Museum's real life steam trains, diesel locomotives and more.

First stop: Circus Train

Run away with the circus for a day this school holiday and try your hand at juggling, hula hooping, stilt walking and more. 

  • Have fun in Action Alley playing circus games and show off your new-found circus skills   
  • Enjoy Circus entertainment daily at 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm
  • Wander the Circus Train display with 20 historical photos of the circus trains in Queensland including film from the 1940s with Wirth’s Circus, “the greatest show on earth”, rolling into Queensland
  • Get creative in the craft area and make your own clown hat

Who doesn’t love hands on fun? 

  • Put yourself and your little ones in the driver’s seat of the Museum's train simulator
  • Interact with 20 awesome exhibits in the Sciencentre

Tips to help plan your visit:

  • We recommend a visit of 3+ hours because there’s so much to see and do
  • The Museum is open daily from 9:30am-4pm, except  Good Friday (closed) 
  • Pack a picnic to enjoy on the grounds, or visit the onsite Trackside Cafe
  • Entry conditions are in line with Queensland Government’s COVID-Safe Plan
