Take a virtual walk through the jungles of the world at Monkeys! A Primate Story now on show at the Queensland Museum.
The fascinating exhibition features more than 60 amazing taxidermy specimens and skeletons, with the former showcased in their natural habitats inside glass cabinets with audio surrounds.
On show are every primate from the tiny mouse lemur to the giant gorilla, including orangutans, chimpanzees, baboons, gibbons (including the siamang, the world’s biggest), maracaques and vervet, black howler and squirrel monkeys.
Along the way there are interactive touch screens to learn more in fun ways using jigsaws and the like and at the end of the exhibition is a primate ‘family tree’ showing the ancestral links to humans.
Need to know - This exhibition is a timed ticketed experience, with entry times commencing at 9.40am daily, then at 20-minute intervals through to the last entry at 4.00pm. Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.*
