Discover the best that Brisbane CBD has to offer on a leisurely Saturday morning bicycle ride with Brisbane City Cycling

Established in 2020, Brisbane City Cycling was born out of a weekend tradition for owner Helen, who would ride her bike to the West End Market every Saturday morning.

Having travelled the world under her own steam, the Brisbane local is keen to show other locals and visitors to Brisbane some of her favourite spots, sharing the history of the river city along the way.

The relaxed 3-hour tour across the city is suitable for all fitness levels, from Tour de France fanatics to coffee and croissant addicts.

Brisbane City Cycling

There's no better way to explore Brisbane than by bike, allowing you to cover more ground then walking, but spend more time immersed in the stunning surrounds than travelling by car. In addition, the city's cycle paths give you front row access to the Brisbane River, taking in views you simply can’t see driving through the city.

The 14km tour starts and finishes at Brisbane's beautiful riverside precinct Howard Smith Wharves, taking in the city's highlights along the way with ample time to take photos.

Meander along the river, past historic Customs House, through the City Botanic Gardens and across the river to West End where you'll make a pit stop at Davies Park Market - famous for its fresh food and relaxed vibe. Here you can enjoy a delicious coffee underneath the giant fig trees.

After morning tea, the tour continues up river to Brisbane's cultural epicentre (Gallery of Modern Art, State Library, Queensland Museum and QPAC) before pedalling through the picturesque South Bank Parklands to Kangaroo Point Cliffs, crossing over the Story Bridge before descending via elevator to Howard Smith Wharves.

Need to know - The tour includes an easy 3-hour cycle with knowledgeable tour guide, bicycle and helmet hire, a hot drink for morning tea and picnic rugs to use as you relax by the river at West End Market.

Nice to know - Brisbane City Cycling supplies stylish and practical bikes suitable for all riders. The bikes have seven gears with a double-sided chain guard designed to give your clothes maximum protection from getting caught. In addition, all bikes come with a luggage rack and a basket to ensure you have room for your personal possessions plus anything you purchase at the market. Private tours, tours using your own bike, and tours with children can be arranged by contacting Helen directly.
