With over 35 years in travel in Australia and the best fishing experts on hand, Go Fish Australia will have you driving, flying or four-wheel driving to calm water, deep water or inland fishing in any location in Australia, and their brand-new Indigenous Fishing Experience will see you fishing with a traditional owner closer to home, on stunning North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah). 

Go Fish Australia have teamed up with Pulan Pulan Fisheries and Cultural Tours to deliver this brand-new Aboriginal Fishing Experience that focuses on fishing and bait collection.

Half-day, full-day or multiple-day, this experience is inclusive for all levels of fishing expertise, from the fishing fanatic to the fishing novice.

Depending on your schedule, you can take a helicopter to enjoy fishing at dawn and be back at your desk by 11am. Or, if time is on your side, take the day or a couple of days to fully immerse yourself into the traditional ways of fishing.

Exclusive to Go Fish Australia, you will learn to fish, cook and flavour your catch with bush-tucker using traditional methods, as taught by a Quandamooka fishing guide. The Quandamooka have lived in the area for tens of thousands of years. Villages existed around the coastal areas and islands and campsites could be found wherever there was fresh water from creeks or water holes. 

Depending on the season, flathead, whiting, bream, tailor, mullet and dart may be running. The bait is live and fresh, and gathered from Quandamooka shores - yabbies, beach worms, bloodworms and pipis (or eugaries as they are traditionally known on Quandamooka country) are amongst the mix.


Travel by helicopter or ferry in the morning from Brisbane or the Gold Coast to the crystal clear waters of North Stradbroke Island. Meet your private fishing guide and travel to the best fishing location of the day. On arrival, the fire will be lit on the beach and your guide will cook your breakfast entree on the coals, which is usually delicious, pan-fried pippies.

After a brief welcome to country, your guide will have your fishing equipment ready to cast into the surf for a few hours of fishing, all whilst sipping fresh coffee and sampling some wattle seed and lemon myrtle damper.

Finish the morning with a hearty breakfast of fresh fish cooked on the fire and, if you like, one of your catches will be on the menu. Board the helicopter or the ferry for the scenic journey back to Brisbane or even back to your office!

Tour Options

Nice to know - Included is transfers, the use of the fishing gear, bait and expert tuition. Breakfast, brunch and/or lunch is provided using local bush tucker, including fresh water for your coffee harvested from Myora Springs, an indigenous landmark on Minjerribah.

Need to know - You may get wet as you stand and fish in the surf, so packing a change of clothes is suggested. Tours require a minimum of 2 persons.
