The Dalgety Public House
Teneriffe
THE DALGETY HOUSE IN TENERIFFE HAS CLOSED.
The Dalgety Public House is a cool country-meets city gastropub found nestled in the base of the 1950s red brick Dalgety and Co’s no 3 Woolstore in Teneriffe.
Paying homage to Dalgety and Co’s pastoral history and Teneriffe’s industrial past, The Dalgety Public House serves generous portions of delicious country pub style food with a modern twist and a mix of craft and old skool beers in a splendid industrial chic setting.
In true pub style, The Dalgety is the ideal neighbourhood watering hole - one of those communal meeting places where you can enjoy a lazy weekend lunch on the shady terrace outside or sip on a cocktail and delicious charcuterie plate on the patio furniture overlooking the street. Children are welcome too, with a gourmet little kids menu that includes Chicken Tenders and Minute Steak.
For grown-ups, there’s calamari tacos, crispy seasoned chicken wings or charcuteries & cheese board to share and Light Feeds such as Moreton Bay bug or Pulled Lamb sliders, house salad, Stone & Wood battered fish & chips or chicken parmigiana.
Otherwise there’s steaks (grade 6+ wagyu or eye fillet etc) with choice of sauce (mushroom, peppercorn, chimi churri, seeded mustard and red wine jus), with sides of slaw, onion rings and skinny fries.
And better bring an appetite for the Big Feed, especially the spectacular 12 Hour Lamb Shoulder with crispy chatr potatoes and steamed greens or Whole Butterflied Chicken with chat potatoes and house salad.
When it comes to beer The Dalgety Public House is where old meets new, offering everything from draught beers like Lazy Yak, Dirty Granny and Peroni, bottled offerings from Stone and Wood, Yanda and local Newstead Brewing Co to the old fav Long Necks of VB, Fosters, XXXX Gold; and it’s possibly the only place in Brisbane where you’ll find Melbourne Bitter on tap.
For cocktail fans there’s a small luscious list including Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, Tomatini or Chilli Coconut and cocktail carafes to share such as Local Melons and Passionfruit Chilli Fizz.
Wine at The Dalgety is sourced from boutique Oz wineries with the exception of a couple of Italian drops and French bubbly – Tattinger and Laurent Perrier.
