The QUBE Effect 2024
Brisbane
Are you an emerging artist or band? Want to take your music career to the next level? Brisbane City Council's The QUBE Effect will provide 20 musical acts the opportunity to take part in a nine-month music development program.
The QUBE Effect provides an opportunity for young musicians aged to 12 to 25 to network with and be mentored by some of Brisbane's most influential music industry experts. For the 2023 program this panel included of the likes of Bernard Fanning (Powderfinger), singer/songwriter Nat Dunn, Luke Peacock and Fred Leone.
Artists will develop their skills, have live performance opportunities and work with production teams to make their own music videos. They will also get to perform live at an inner-city location during Brisbane Youth Week 2024, take part in valuable professional and creative development training and win cash prizes.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said that previous winners of The QUBE Effect, which includes acts like Ney Ney and The Dandys, had gone on to receive record deals and major festival gigs. And this year's applicants even have a chance to win a paid gig at Splendour in the Grass!
“The QUBE Effect is a unique program that gives local talent the chance to make it in the music industry,” he said.
“It is focused on retaining local talent and encouraging artist development, by providing industry partnerships and mentoring. We encourage all young musicians to apply, and experience being the future of Brisbane’s music industry!”
