Grindhouse Espresso

GRINDHOUSE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS OF DECEMBER 2015.

Those in-the-know flock to this little espresso garage off an alleyway behind the Stones Corner Hotel for their daily superior caffeine fix.

As it happened the city’s loss was the southside’s gain when an ex-employee of the fabulous but now demolished-for-tax-office-purposes CBD warehouse haunt The Coffee Supplier moved here and started Grindhouse.

A patchwork of coffee bean sacks covers the ceiling and part of the walls, there’s free Wifi and fortnightly exhibits by local artists. Food is scant but tasty, with pastries from the fab local Rock’n’Roll Bakery, toasts and jam or cookies, while fresh coffee beans are available to buy, ground or whole.
