The Dandelion Social

Morningside

THE DANDELION SOCIAL CLOSED PERMANENTLY IN 2020.

The Dandelion Social is an Irish-inspired eatery in Morningside serving classic comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared by internationally-trained chefs.

Nestled on Wynnum Road between Wing Fix and Lick! Ice-Cream, The Dandelion Social provides indoor seating in a warm and welcoming space with local art adorning the walls, as well as an al fresco dog-friendly dining area out back.

The menu, crafted by Irish owner Sarah Clohessy, includes her favourite fare including breakfast dishes such as pancakes with lemon and sugar, herbed mushrooms with confit cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta and salsa verde on toast, and eggs benedict - free-range poached eggs on potato cakes with streaky bacon, baby spinach and heavenly house made hollandaise sauce.

Hearty appetites can tuck into a traditional Full Irish breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages, white and black pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, potato cake and freshly baked Irish soda bread served with Schibello coffee or Barry's Tea (an Irish staple).

Lunch includes smoked salmon on Irish soda bread with cream cheese and crisp fried capers, freshly baked baguettes filled with crispy bacon and melted brie or slow-braised beef and sautéed mushrooms with creamy peppercorn sauce, and slow-braised beef brisket burgers topped with maple bacon jam, jack cheddar and crunchy slaw on a lightly toasted milk bun served with French fries. Alternatively, try their curry fries, a popular Irish street food consisting of golden fries topped with house made curry sauce and gooey, melted cheddar cheese.

Open for dinner Thursday to Sunday, the dinner menu is where the chefs - French, Italian and Australia - really shine with stand out dishes such as braised beef and red wine ragout,  Porterhouse steak, prosciutto-wrapped chicken, pistachio-crusted barramundi, and Middle Eastern spiced pumpkin with wild rice.

Customers can enjoy a tipple with craft beer and Guinness on tap as well as a small selection of wines and classic cocktails.

Nice to know - Each Sunday, The Dandelion Social hosts MASS (Morningside Area Sunday Session), offering a traditional roast dinner such as roasted pork with sweet carrots, green beans, pumpkin, potato gratin, crackling and lashings of gravy, served with a side of live music. Book a table if you don't want to miss out.
