Boyds Bay Houseboats

Tweed Heads

If a holiday on the move sounds good, an escape on the scenic Tweed River with Boyds Bay Houseboats is just the thing for holiday makers.

With houseboats of various sizes, this houseboat company can cater for most occasions, whether it's a couple, family or group holiday, special occasion or even a function on board.

Boyds Bay Houseboats

The houseboats leave from the Tweed Marina, with a qualified staff member providing instruction on the water before guests are set loose on their own. No boat licence is required and should assistance be needed at any stage, help is only a phone call away.  Houseboats are well equipped and very comfortable. Each boat has its own dinghy which is handy for going ashore or exploring. Customers can choose to simply use the dinghy's oars or for an extra charge, an outboard motor is available.

For those keen to cast a line, a NSW fishing licence is included with bookings, covering fishing from both the houseboat or the tender boat. Fishing rods can be hired from Boyds Bay Houseboats or guests can bring their own. All houseboats have a crab pot on board, so catching a tasty mud crab should be on the must do list.

This houseboat holiday allows guests to explore and enjoy the beautiful Tweed River, where picturesque scenery is everywhere: a beautiful river, amazing reflections, majestic mountains, lush green paddocks and hills and quaint townships await.  Add pelicans, dolphins, and a variety of bird life and this is a photographer's dream holiday. Whilst just relaxing on board, BBQ-ing on the sun deck or fishing for dinner is the stuff holidays are made of, there's also the opportunity to go ashore to shop or dine in charming old townships.

There's no shortage of quiet spots to drop anchor, "feel the serenity" and enjoy just being afloat. What could be better than relaxing on the top deck with a cool beverage, watching the sun go down?  And with Mt Warning as a backdrop, the view is always spectacular. Charts, information and suggestions about sightseeing and anchoring are on board the houseboat. Some will choose to find a great spot, drop anchor and just enjoy their little piece of paradise on the Tweed River. Others may enjoy exploring and there's a great adventure awaiting with the final destination being the Bray Park Weir - the end of this river system. Along the way there's plenty to see, including Ukerebagh Island, Fingal Straight, Chinderah, Dodd'sIsland, Stott's Island, Tumbulgum, Rous River, Condong and Murwillumbah.

Visit the website for information on what to bring and what is supplied on the houseboat. Although an esky is provided, it's a good idea to bring one along as fridge size varies, depending on the size of the houseboat. Another item to include in bring-on gear is insect repellant, particularly in warmer months.

Boyds Bay Houseboats

For guests' convenience, on-line grocery orders can be placed with Coles and groceries will be delivered to your houseboat, unpacked and stored on delivery. Grocery orders will need to be placed in advance - ask staff at Boyds Bay Houseboats about this service.

Secure parking is available for vehicles, camper vans, boat or jet-ski trailers, for a one-off fee that covers the duration of the houseboat holiday. Customers can also leave vehicles parked at the Tweed Marina at no charge.

If going to sleep to the sounds of fish splashing around and water gently slapping against the side of the houseboat sounds good, how about waking to cows moo-ing and bird life welcoming a new day?  This really is a unique way to spend a holiday or celebrate a special occasion, so add it to the "must do" list and start organising an adventure on the stunning Tweed River.
