Family Fun in Surfers Paradise

Since the 1960's Surfers Paradise has been a drawcard for holidaying families, who, for generations, have strolled its main street Cavill Avenue, ice-creams in hand, while taking in the sights and sounds of this iconic beachside precinct. Today Surfers Paradise continues to be a bustling hub of family fun, from its famous patrolled beach to the many exciting and memorable experiences and activities on offer for all ages:

Things to Do

For decades, holiday makers have been lured through the door of this famous Surfers Paradise attraction to be amazed by the strange, the shocking and the beautiful. As you pass through the myriad of themed galleries you'll come face to face with everything from curious artefacts, extraordinary art and pop culture memorabilia to animal oddities and incredible stories of people and places that you'll find hard to believe are true

Be prepared to challenge all of your senses and ignite your imagination with this mind-blowing experience for ages 8 years+ and the first of its kind in the world. Embark on a 30 minute immersive journey through a maze-like world of stunning special effects, highly emotion-provoking sound fields and trippy music. The walk-through experience takes you through 20 multi-sensual environments of sound, smell and amazing illusions that will have you laughing, screaming and wanting more

Take the elevator to the 77th floor of Q1, the world's tallest residential building, where you'll enjoy unsurpassed 360 degree views of the Gold Coast and hinterland from the Observation Deck. Situated a breath-taking 230m from the ground, Australia's only beachside Observation Deck is a highlight of any trip to the Gold Coast. With high power binoculars and visual displays highlighting the key points of interest in the region, the Observation Deck also features a licensed Skypoint Bistro and Bar where you can relax and enjoy a drink or bite to eat after taking in the spectacular views

Renowned as the biggest indoor family entertainment centre in Australia, you'll find plenty to while away the hours or fill a day at TimeZone, who have re-opened their doors with even bigger and better attractions. Challenge the family to a game of laser tag in their brand new laser tag arena, play a round of glow in-the-dark mini golf, ride the bumper cars and choose from more than two hundred arcade games to test your skills....if you bring the family here they may never want to leave

The legendary Surfers Paradise Beer Garden has recently been revamped, taking inspiration from its heyday, but with a new design, fresh menu and a family-friendly focus. As well as the delicious pub-style food, families can have a barrel of fun at the unique new  'Adults Playground', where grown-ups and kids of all ages can get together and play nostalgic games like Jenga, Connect Four, Shufl and Foot-Pool

Stretching alongside the famous Surfers Paradise Esplanade, these bustling twilight markets have been one of the Gold Coast's iconic shopping and cultural experiences since 1995. As well as the place to pick up artisan goods, gourmet provisions, fresh produce and handmade wares, the family-friendly markets are the perfect spot to enjoy range of tasty eats by the beach and free live entertainment

Dining Out
Longboards

Surfers Paradise is also a hub of casual dining spots where you can refuel after all of those fun activities. Visit Longboards Laidback Bar & Eatery, the Gold Coast's only surf-themed bar for one of their famous burgers or try Vapiano's for their made-to-order pizzas, house-made pasta and fresh salads, served in a fun atmosphere. And for a relaxing beachfront dining experience, from breakfast through to sunset cocktails and dinner, it's hard to go past local favourite Sandbar
