The Black Market

The Black Market is a fantastic open-air farmers and local makers market offering fresh farm produce in Albion on weekends.

Located in an industrial estate, behind Collingwood Black Cafe, the industrial-chic converted builders yard and warehouse comes to life for this community-focused market that is a must-visit for northsiders.

On weekends, the undercover outdoor space transforms into a farmers market, showcasing the best chemical free, organic local crops and artisanal goods. On offer are fresh fruit and veges, handmade pasta, meat, seafood, cheese, artisan bread and pastries, pantry items and staples, beautiful blooms and lush plants, artisan coffee and speciality teas plus bespoke goods from local makers. The fresh, flavour packed fruit and veg is gathered by dynamic farmer duo Kelly and Rick of Sandy Creek Gourmet Produce from Woodford and surrounding areas.

Amongst the stalls you'll find two of Brisbane’s finest bakers, The Pie Hole and Lady Bouchon Cakes, each renowned for their quality handmade baked goods. Made from real ingredients, real flavour, and no shortcuts, each patisserie item is guaranteed to satisfy any sweet tooth.

The markets also feature greenery provided by The Plant People (featured in The Block 2020), a family owned business with well over a decade in the plant industry, delivering the happiest, healthy, room-ready plants. By tending their plants from seed to sale, in their local nurseries here in Queensland, their thriving plants make a great choice for both “plant whisperers” to “black thumbs.”

Food lovers can also enjoy delicious eat-in creations from Collingwood Black café’s very own food caravan, serving up all the usual brunch must-haves as well as a plethora of breakfast treats made fresh each morning. Customers can also expect an excellent coffee using a range of blends roasted by Seven Miles.

Good to know - On Friday evenings from 5pm, The Black Market hosts different food trucks offering delicious fare from Greek and Italian to authentic Latin American street food. The Black Market bar is also well stocked with wine, cocktails and craft beer, making this an ideal destination for the whole family, including fur babies, to unwind on Friday nights, with live music from 6pm.
