Farewell Howard Smith Wharves

Brisbane's favourite drinking and dining playground, Howard Smith Wharves, has closed, barely a year after its much-applauded and long-anticipated opening.

The iconic riverfront precinct under the Story Bridge, with its world class restaurants, bars, function spaces and parklands that until recently were packed to the rafters every weekend, has shut all of its outlets in the wake of the government's coronavirus directives.

In such a short space of time Brisbane locals and visitors alike had embraced the precinct and taken it into their hearts.

So farewell to Howard Smith Wharves for the time being and, on behalf of Brisbane, we all look forward to returning once this crisis is over.
