Cdop Mini Market
Milton’s best kept secret is this tiny multicultural street food market which pops up on Thursdays in the car park by the abandoned Royal Thai Orchid building in Milton’s commercial office park district.
Here you’ll find Brisbane food trucks The Bun Mobile and That BBQ Joint keeping company with The I Heart Mushroom guy, The Bagel Boys, The German Sausage Hut and authentic street food stalls from Spain and Venezuela.
Local office workers pop down for budget lunches and those in the know drop by for their fill of boutique burgers, smoky ribs and pulled pork with potato salad, bratwurst, pretzels and fresh baked bagels, both savoury (reuben, smoked chicken and salmon) and sweet (cinnamon and blueberry).
This is also the only place on Brisbane you’ll find Venezuelan food at Arepas, a stall peddling traditional street food of corn pockets filled with chicken, black bean, beef or jamon (ham) and quesan (cheese).
And next door is traditional Spanish stall Tom Cat where you’ll find croquettes, Spanish omelette, paella, and tomato bread ( a famous Barcelona street dish of toasted bread rubbed with garlic and tomato) and, for dessert, churros.
Need to know: These stalls are cash only and most meals are under $15. This market has a limited shelf life in an area earmarked for redevelopment so get in and try it while you can.
