Spicy Affair is an exotic eatery located in the recently revamped Brisbane Square in the CBD, offering an exciting, mouth-watering menu of Indian and Asian cuisine.
Open weekdays for lunch, dinner and drinks, customers can dine inside, decorated with colourful street art, outside undercover or takeaway with a separate takeaway window available.
Traditional Indian starters include vegetarian samosas served with mint and yoghurt dip, paneer tikka (cubes of cottage cheese and marinated vegetables in spiced yogurt) and lamb seekh kebabs cooked in tandoor; while main dishes consist of classic curries (chicken, lamb or goat) like butter chicken, tikka masala, rogan josh, korma, madras and vindaloo.
Asian offerings range from salads - Thai beef, duck, tiger prawn and crispy fish (lightly battered barramundi combined with carrot, celery, red onion and fish sauce with chilli jam and lemon lime dressing - stir fries (vegetarian, chicken, beef, pork or seafood) served with steamed jasmine rice, spicy fried rice and noodle dishes (such as pad thai) and soups like laksa, slow cooked beef pho and homemade wonton soup.
Must try desserts include deep fried ice-cream with chocolate, strawberry or caramel topping and gulab jamu - a traditional Indian dessert of spongy milk balls soaked in rose scented syrup.
Open 'til late, customers can swing by after work for a pre-dinner drink. Spicy Affair boasts six beers on tap, bottled beer (including Tiger, Tsingtao, Snow and Asahi), Rekorderlig ciders, a small selection of red and white wines, and creative cocktails like Wong Collins (gin, lemon, sugar and Vietnamese mint) and Chinese Whiskey Sour (whiskey, five spice, lemon and fluffy egg white).
