The Odyssey Project Coffee Roasters

Those in need of a serious caffeine fix should head to The Odyssey Project, tucked away in the industrial backstreets of Milton.

The Odyssey Project is Brisbane's newest specialty coffee cafe. No strangers to Brisbane's bean scene, Kenesi and Bob (who also own Grindhouse) have been roasting beans and creating custom blends at their roastery in Milton since late 2012.

Inside the small warehouse space, this roastery come cafe has a rustic/industrial fit out. The timber bar and red brick walls add warmth in contrast to the polished concrete floor.

Pull up a stool and order a coffee as you like – espresso, filter, or cold drip – with both blends and single origins available. Try the house blend (also available at Grindhouse) or the 'Tree Hugger', a blend of Sumatran, Mexican and Brazilian beans. Single origins, rotated frequently, include beans sourced from El Salvador, Guatemala, PNG, Indonesia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

There's no food here but the coffee and congenial company make the trip worthwhile.

Things to note: bags of beans and brew accessories are available to purchase. Parking is limited.
