The Tiller Coffee

Alderley

The Tiller is the coolest whistle stop on the Ferny Grove railway line, a quirky recycled coffee house in a shipping container down by the old brickworks chimney.

With the aid of a mint green La Marzocco and a special in house blend of coffee beans by master roaster Peter Wolff (of Dandelion and Driftwood fame), charming owners Chris and Charlie are kept busy churning out the best coffee to be found on this side of the tracks.

Those with time to linger can take a seat in the little courtyard on recycled log seating (fashioned from a mate’s Dad’s fallen tree) or upturned crates and enjoy the excellent coffee and a bush view across the railway line.

With a food licence pending Chris and Charlie have plans to extend the courtyard to make a dedicated outdoor dining space and until then, in-house food is confined to a small range of brownies, Danishes and breakfast brioches (the latter from local artisan bakery Crust & Co, a venture by the owner of Chouquette).
