Nessun Dorma, housed in heritage-listed Watson Brothers Building in the city, is a sibling for the popular Yeronga coffee roaster/café of the same name, and offers the same top-notch boutique brew and fab fare.
Inside this historic building, the character remains intact – think high ceiling, concrete flooring and exposed brick walls. Customers can sip freshly roasted coffee at the espresso bar in front or find a table in the rear.
Open weekdays from 6am*, breakfast (served until 11) ranges from toasted granola muesli with caramelised figs, fresh berries, Greek yoghurt and cinnamon almonds and grilled mushrooms with thyme, spinach and Persian feta on rye toast to roasted sweet potato hash cakes with grilled asparagus, cherry tomatoes, poached egg, hollandaise and salsa verde to French toast with bacon, berries and maple syrup.
Lunch options, available from 11 to 2*, include gourmet fresh sandwiches (such as NY style housemade corned beef with creamy horseradish potato salad and greens on rye), toasted Turkish sandwiches (like green eggs and ham – smoked ham, fried egg, avocado and mozzarella) and a daily hot lunch special (slow cooked beef brisket ragout, balsamic and sage osso bucco or roasted pumpkin, feta and spinach cannelloni baked in a rich Napoli and béchamel sauce).
Or just enjoy a well-brewed cup of coffee accompanied by one of Nessun Dorma’s delicious freshly baked treats like Persian love cake or passionfruit and raspberry cake with sour cream frosting.
