Balance Brisbane Gymnastics
Balance Brisbane is a super fun way to stay fit with gymnastics classes for all ages, from 18 months to 100 years, located in Yeronga.
You don't need to have been a gymnast or ever taken a gymnastics class to attend Balance Brisbane, where the emphasis is on providing a fun and non-competitive learning environment regardless of age or fitness level. The aim here is to teach gymnastics skills, develop a love of movement and build a community of active children.
Mini Monkeys - 18months -3 years - Parents join with their toddlers to learn the very basics of gymnastics including climbing under and over equipment, rolling, jumping, hanging and learning body awareness in various positions.
Juniors - 3-4 years - Parents are encouraged to engage with this class covering formative stages around spatial awareness, grip strength and confidence, before stepping back more to encourage independence.
Kindy - 4-5 years - Kids will practice animal walks to promote co-ordination and rope climbs, while sofas become trampolines and walls handstand practice areas at home, with a strong emphasis on safety.
Kindy Ninja - 4-5 years - A 45 min class filled with obstacles to climb under and over, with a focus on agility training and soft landings.
Balance Ninja Gymnastics - Ages 5+ - Also known as street gymnastics, this class involves lots of jumping over boxes, swinging on bars, manoeuvring under and over obstacles, and learning tricks such as flips and somersaults.
Stages Program - A mixed gender Stage 1 class, teaching the beginnings of cartwheels and handstands, swings on bars and the basics of beam, vault, floor, rope climbing and parallel bars.
Boys' Gymnastics and Girls' Gymnastics - Following up on Stage 1, the classes split into genders, taking into account the different ways of learning and helping to develop their confidence to work to the best of their ability.
Tumbling - Ages 8+ - Using the tumbletrak (10m long trampoline) , airtrak (9m long air-filled bouncy track) and sprung floor to learn a variety of tumbling skills, a variety of these classes run through the week.
Adult Gymnastics - Whether a beginner or experienced athlete, participants can explore their inner gymnast and improve gymnastic skills with the expert guidance of coaches.
Adult Ninja - Release your inner Ninja at these awesome classes for grown-ups.
Adult Balance Fit - The chance to improve functional strength whilst having fun, via the springy floor, airtrak, bars and beams.
Seniors Balance Fit - 50 years + - These classes are not about forward rolls and cartwheels but rather about building strength, balance and co-ordination and helping to prevent falls.
Nice to know - On weekends there are Casual Saturdays Ninja Gym classes that anyone can rock up to and join in, at either 2-3pm or 3-4pm.
Need to know - Balance Brisbane has a special area where parents can sit and watch whilst their kids are in class. They also have Adult Classes for parents too.
