Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art and Yoshinkan Aikido is one of the best martial arts to gain the skills of self defence. This style of Aikido is well known for its efficient, effective and realistic techniques, trained by male and female officers of the Metropolitan Police and Riot Police in Japan.
Yoshinkan Aikido is strong in basics having developed six basic movements which train your body to apply techniques in the fastest way, with maximum efficiency and with minimum risk of injury.
This practical style of Aikido is suitable for all ages. Children's classes (6-11 years old) combine traditional Aikido discipline with old-fashioned fun. Instruction is broken into basic movements (learning your balance and centre), break-fall practice both forwards and backwards, self-defence techniques and as a treat for hard training, dodge ball and other fun games.
In addition, Aikido training helps kids and teens develop co-ordination, self-control, self-respect, respect for others, general fitness and social skills.
Nice to know - Mori Shihan 8th-Dan is highly qualified. He has taught Queensland and Victoria police, as well as Special Forces in Australia, India and Japan.
