Brisbane Fair Trade Christmas Market

Make it a green Christmas this year with a visit to the Brisbane Fair Trade Christmas Market, held indoors at the Queensland Sport & Athletics Centre.

This market is a one-stop shop for gorgeous handcrafted and ethically sourced gifts and it’s family friendly too, with free face painting and ballooning for the children.

Some of the myriad of free-traders and craft stalls will include Oxfam Shop, Community Projects Worldwise, Book Shack, Native Interiors, Threadmill, Earthlink handcrafts, Wandering Heart, Products of Palestine, Himalayan Connection, Esther Heart, The Leisa Tree, Sinerji, Siham Craftlink and Samana Living.

Whilst there, check out the Oxfam Games Area, where market goers can take time out to play Pucket, Carrom, Bagh Chai, Chinese Checkers, Chess, Backgammon, Dominos & Mancala.

For sustenance, an onsite cafe serves tasty treats and fairtrade tea and coffee.

Need to know – The markets are fully air-conditioned with disabled access and plenty of free parking. There is no onsite ATM, although most stalls have eftpos facilities.
