On Friday and Saturday nights, the popular Peruvian-inspired cafe transforms into the cosy cocktail lounge, Alley Bar, where customers can unwind with their friends and play board games, either inside the dimly-lit bar or in the candle-lit laneway (where four-legged friends are also welcome).
The bar menu offers a mix of local craft brews, a wine list that showcases Australian wine makers including a diverse mix of organic, biodynamic, minimal intervention and experimental wines, and cocktails crafted with boutique spirits made by independent, Australian, small batch distilleries.
Their signature cocktails include an Espresso Martini made with freshly-extracted organic espresso, White Chocolate Kiss (a decadent cocktail featuring passionfruit and white chocolate), and Pisco based cocktails using only the best Pisco (a Peruvian spirit made from grapes) such as Vinas de Oro and Porton. The delectable cocktail menu also features new concoctions each week.
The bar menu, designed to be rotated, features different Australian makers throughout the year. Alley Bar also offers an extensive non-alcoholic drinks menu that includes beer, wine, gin alternatives and top-notch mocktails.
Food on offer is a Peruvian-Mexican fusion including 3 types of tacos made with your choice of slow-cooked free-range pork or chicken from the legends at Low N Slow Meat Co, marinated in house-made ají panca - a mild chilli pepper from Peru with a smokey, rich taste. For vegans, there's a flavour-packed, plant-based cauliflower taco. All 3 tacos are paired with house-made ají (chilli) based sauces.
Other snacks and bites are also available, as well as a cheese platter. The food menu caters for all - gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian. The cafe/bar also stocks a selection of handmade, healthy treats for dogs.
