The Wizard of Oz Arena Spectacular
Brisbane Entertainment Centre
A much-loved musical fantasy film comes to life on stage this school holiday when The Wizard of Oz Arena Spectacular takes over the Brisbane Entertainment Centre from July 12-13 for three shows only.
Starring Gold Logie winning actor John Wood as the Wizard, and talented, young newcomer Carly Bettinson as Dorothy, this is the largest production of Oz ever staged.
Featuring all the songs you love from the iconic movie (We're Off To See The Wizard, Follow The Yellow Brick Road, Over The Rainbow and more), this must-be-seen-to-be-believed, lavish stage production includes state-of-the-art technology bringing the land of Oz to life in vivid colour, with 3000 costumes, 2000 wigs, more than 500 performers and a massive stage the size of 3 basketball courts.
Joining Australia's beloved TV star John Wood (Blue Heelers, Rafferty's Rules) and Brisbane's own Carly Bettinson (recent graduate of the Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre) is a stellar cast including Chris Geoghegan as Scarecrow, Michael Nunn as Tinman, Josh Whitten as Lion, Aurelie Roque as Glinda the Good Witch, and Bil Heit as the Wicked Witch of the West.
This all-new spectacular arena production will be directed by Tim O'Connor, choreographed by Callum Mansfield, with Music Direction by Dennett Hudson and Set Design by Frances Hannaway.
According to Producer Megan Whiting, "This show is a real feast for the eyes. It has the feel of a rock concert with the charm of a fairy tale, the magic and spectacle of an Olympics opening ceremony and all the heart of the original story that audiences through the decades have come to adore."
Join Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and the Wizard somewhere over the rainbow this school holiday for an unforgettable journey down the Yellow Brick Road.
