Wildlife Photographer Of The Year
Wildlife Photographer of the Year is a must-see, free exhibition showcasing the very best in nature photography, making its Brisbane Powerhouse debut on Aug 30 until November 4.
On loan from the Natural History Museum in London, this extraordinary exhibition features 100 award-winning images capturing nature’s rich diversity, from intimate animal portraits to spectacular wild landscapes.
Known as the Oscars of the wildlife photographic calendar, the origins of this prestigious photographic event go back to 1965 when BBC Wildlife Magazine was called Animals and the competition received over 300 entries.
More than fifty years on, this Wildlife Photographer of the Year attracted almost 50,000 entries by professional and amateur photographers from 92 countries, highlighting its enduring appeal.
The prize-winning images, chosen for their creativity, originality and technical excellence, subsequently tour around the world to help raise awareness about biodiversity and sustainability.
In a nutshell - Don’t miss your chance to see these awe-inspiring images when Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibits exclusively in Queensland at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
