THREE MONKEYS IN WEST END HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2022.
It’s almost Midnight at the Oasis and things are still humming in this opium den meets Ali Baba’s cave on Montague St. Patrons from teens to septuagenarians sup and chat under the muted glow of leadlight and rattan lightshades at carved tables inlaid with chess and backgammon boards, surrounded by art works, carvings potted palms and sheer curtains.
Comfort food is and always has been for the past twenty years, the order of the day – steaming bowls of pumpkin soup, moussaka, lasagne and hefty slices of cake to keep the conversation rolling, no matter what time it is.
