Talking Ideas: Anna Funder
State Library of Queensland
Miles Franklin Literary Award recipient Anna Funder will be at the State Library of Queensland on November 9 – exactly 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall – to talk about the re-release of her classic book Stasiland as part of their Talking Ideas program.
The winner of the 2004 Samuel Johnson Prize, Stasiland is an extraordinary and definitive account of tyranny and resistance in the former East Germany. The award-winning book has now been published in 25 countries and 20 languages.
“Stasiland demonstrates that great, original reporting is still possible… A heartbreaking, beautifully written book. A classic for sure.” – Claire Tomalin, The Guardian (UK)
Nice to know - SLQ’s Talking Ideas are regular live events with the world’s best authors, thinkers and commentators.
