Seven South

Seven South, just seven kilometres south of the CBD in Yeronga, is a foodie’s fantasy, boasting an all-day menu including breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert.

Located opposite Hyde Road Park, owners Gavin and Kylie Bartholomew (who previously owned Ashgrove’s Home Café) have created a family-friendly, dog-friendly, cheerful café.  Inside a mix of dark and light timber, white wire chairs, copper light fixtures and plenty of plants fill the bright and airy space while little, timber tables spill out onto the footpath.

Open daily from 6:30am, breakfast is available until 11:30 on weekdays and all day on weekends. Breakfast faves at Seven South are served with a twist - apple, rose and pomegranate granola with yoghurt granita or herb smashed avocado on homemade pumpkin bread with goat’s feta and spiced pepitas - while porcini sformato (similar to a soufflé) with sautéed mushrooms, spinach and shiraz reduction and lemon, thyme and blueberry ricotta hotcakes with crème fraiche and pistachio praline are set to become new favourites.

Lunch options are just as impressive. Try the  house smoked salmon fish cakes with avocado aioli, pickled beetroot and asparagus and fennel salad, wagyu beef burger with pickles, gruyere, grain mustard and hand cut chips or duck salad (confit duck leg with grapes, orange, parsley and fennel).

Little foodies can munch on mini blueberry hotcakes with ice-cream, fruit salad with yoghurt and honey, and bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast; or spaghetti Bolognese, battered whiting with chips and mini cheeseburgers with chips for lunch.

Locally roasted Dramanti coffee is on pour while tea, milkshakes, smoothies and freshly squeezed juices round out the drinks menu. Seven South is also fully licensed.

*At the time of writing in Feb 2016, Seven South had not yet launched their dinner menu.
