The Seed Project

THIS EVENT HAS PASSED.
Catch the next Wolfmother before they become famous at The Seed Project, a free twilight event staging an array of Brisbane’s original upcoming indie bands and musos in the open air grassy setting of the Melbourne St Green.
From June through October you can pull up a folding chair or bring a blanket and kick back and enjoy the music with a licensed bar on hand that also sells great comfort bar food. On chilly nights woodfires provide warmth and there are hot beverages on hand as well.
Genres showcased include everything from funk to folk, pop-rap to heavy metal and alt rock to hip-hop while the musicians themselves all hail from the Con’s Bachelor of Music, a course that spawned graduates from the likes of Wolfmother, The John Steele Singers, The Delta Riggs and Nine Sons of Dan.
The launch night on Friday Jun 20 features a stellar line-up of talent that includes the blues influenced Jackson James Smith, rock band Tinker, self-confessed ‘slave to the song’ David Baker and Taylor Moss, the urban country songstress who has already recorded in Nashville, released two music videos and enjoyed chart success with her single Centre Stage.
The unearthed talent is fresh from the QCGU’s Bachelor of Popular Music program and features on the annual Seed compilation available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify from 20 June. The Seed Volume 3 album will also be launched at the opening event on Friday 20 June.
