SAMIOS DELI HAS CLOSED.
Veteran Brisbane deli and providore Samios Foods has left its quaint blue and white cottage at Woolloongabba and expanded into a stark modern warehouse space in the industrial backstreets of Coorparoo.
With the move comes an expansion into Indian and Asian products and a future in-house café where shoppers and local workers can pop in for some home-made Spinach pie and a Greek coffee.
Meantime its wide aisles and shiny new deli counters are well stocked with traditional honey cookies, eggplant and pepper pastes, marinated veges, Greek cheeses and yoghurts, figs, buckets of fresh plump olives and antipasto, a massive array of herbs and spices including the hard-to-find such as mushroom powder, wattle seed and juniper berries, olive leaf tea, Greek coffee, home made baklava and kafaifi.
