Anzac Square & Memorial Galleries
Pay your respects at Anzac Square & Memorial Galleries this Remembrance Day, Monday 11th November.
Follow in the footsteps of Queenslanders past and present, who have been coming to Anzac Square for almost a century, to commemorate Australia's service community this Remembrance Day.
Those wishing to attend the formal Remembrance Day ceremony are asked to gather on Ann Street, around the Shrine of Remembrance, from 10.15am (for a 10.30am start).
Each year on 11 November, Australians observe one minute's silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
Beneath the Shrine of Remembrance, you can embark on an interactive journey from the First World War to today inside the refreshed Anzac Square Memorial Galleries – a free exhibition curated by State Library of Queensland.
Visitors to the Square are also welcome to leave an enduring symbol of remembrance - such as a poppy, laurel wreath or message inside the Anzac Square Memorial Galleries - to honour Queensland-associated battalions, regiments and other units.
Nice to know - Central Station is directly opposite Anzac Square for those wishing to take public transport.
Need to know - Memorial Galleries open 10am-4pm, Sunday to Friday (closed Saturday). Anzac Square Parklands open 24 hours daily
