Qld Pops: New Year's Eve Gala Concert
Concert Hall QPAC
Join the Queensland Pops Orchestra for a spectacular night of entertainment with two New Year's Eve Gala Concerts at QPAC.
This year’s glamorous galas will be headlined by Eddie Muliaumaseali'i, a bass baritone opera singer with 26 years of professional experience, whose bass voice will vibrate all the way down to your toes.
Oscar Wong, winner of the Lev Valsenko Piano Competition in 2017, will play the beautiful 3rd movement of the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto #3.
Brisbane-born clarinettist Paul Dean, regarded as one of Australia's foremost musicians, will regale the audience with Weber Concertino #1.
Returning after a successful introduction last year are dancers from the Queensland Ballet, Dylan Lackey and Lina Kin-Wheatstone, who will join the full-complement Queensland Pops Orchestra for an unforgettable fusion of classical music and exquisite dance.
Both gala concerts have taken into account the fireworks and will have you out in time to see the dazzling pyrotechnic display.
For the ultimate New Year’s Eve experience, a special Black Tie package (9pm performance only) includes A-Reserve seating and access to QPAC’s rooftop after the concert where gala-goers will enjoy champagne and canapés while the piper pipes in the New Year and the sky lights up over South Brisbane.
